PRACTICALITIES ONSITE

What happens if I leave something behind?

We have a lost property box in the site, where we will keep all the lost items after our guest leave the site. We are unable to send items back to customers. If we find it, we are happy to keep it until you come to collect it. We keep items for 1 month before disposing of them.

Can we bring our dog / pet llama?

We’re a dog friendly site, however we do ask not to let muddy dogs in the tipis. It is a working farm so you should keep any dogs that are prone to wandering on a lead. We don’t want to scare the cows! Same rules apply for pet llamas.

Does the tipi ever get wet inside if rains?

Inside you’re safe from the wet. We’ve ensured that they are all water-tight. Outside is another story… remind me why we live in the UK again?!

How far are the tipis from one another?

They are about 10-15 meters away from each other. Enough for privacy but close enough if you’re staying as a group.

Is there WIFI?

Goodness no! We’re all about disconnecting. You’ll be pleased to hear there’s pretty bad phone signal too.

Do you provide food / breakfast?

No, unfortunately we don’t provide food or breakfast at this time. But we know where serves the best….

Is it cold?

No, there are heaters and blankets. We provide enough to keep you warm, but remember it is still camping. We don’t want to sound like your mum, but you should still probably bring a few layers for outside.

Is the heat sufficient for the whole tipi?

Yep, we’ve slept out in the winter and been warm. There’s an electric heater for each tipi. We also provide blankets, so don’t sweat… well maybe *literally* you will.

Is there a fridge / cool box facility?

Yes, each tipi has its own individual fridge.

Are there lights in the tipi?

You bet. There’s sufficient lighting in each tipi.

Do you provide wood?

We have a trust shop onsite, where you can buy wood and kindling for the fire pit.

Is there a toilet / shower facility?

Yes. We’re hoping you get close to nature… but not that close. There’s 4 showers and 3 toilets on site, close to the tipis.

Do you supply electricity?

Yes, there is electricity in each unit for lighting and 4 plugs.

What cooking facilities do you have?

There’s both a camping stove and a BBQ, per tipi. You lucky sausage.

Are you family / children friendly?

We sure are. We welcome children to bring their parents along… There is a small brook on-site so we recommend normal supervision, so kids please keep an eye on your parents.

What do I need to bring?

We’d recommend you bring: Wellies (we are in the UK after all), Food and drink, a USB or laptop with HDMI cable if you don’t want to watch our questionable choice of films, smiles. Here’s what we’ll provide: Camping stove, Pots n pans, Cutlery, utensils, plates, Communal fridge, Towels, Bedding and blankets, Projector with films, a good time.

Can we bring our own tent to come camping?

We’re a site that offers glamping accommodation and we want to prioritise the facilities for our glamping guests. We therefore do not often accept camping. We may occasionally do so on a case by case basis in the quiet season when the facilities have plenty of capacity. Send us an email and we will be happy to assists.

GETTING THERE

Can I get from London?

Certainly. We’re about a 2-3 hour drive (worth it!).

What time is check-in and check-out?

These are our check-in and check-out times:

Check-in: from 3pm
Check-out: 10am

You’ll be given the name of your tipi ahead of booking – please bring it along with you.

How do I find you?

Let’s be honest, we’re not going to be able to beat Google Maps at directions. So here’s the postcode that you can plug in: White House Farm How Caple Herefordshire HR1 4SR. You’ll come down a hill into a small valley. We’re in that valley. Keep an eye out for a telephone box and a sign for White House Farm.

Can I arrive by public transport?

That all depends on where you’re coming from. Our nearest train stations are Hereford, Ledbury and Gloucester. If you’re travelling by bus then Ross-On-Wye is also an option. You can get a taxi from those locations. If you’re a jet-setter, then our nearest airports and Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham. A car is recommended as it will make it easier to get off-site and do activities.
